The Village at Nags Head was established in 1981 when over 400 acres of undeveloped land extending from ocean to sound (known then as the “Epstein Tract”) was sold to developers. The Town of Nags Head was heavily involved in developing the master plan and zoning of a Special Planned District, which ultimately was named The Village at Nags Head. The primary initial developments were the golf course and beach club, soon followed by various soundside and oceanside communities.
The Village at Nags Head Property Owners Association was also established to fundamentally sustain the original vision of the master development plan, and care for various common areas within the Village. All property owners within the Village at Nags Head Special Planning District are members of the Property Owners Association; and pay dues and assessments accordingly.
