Sound Access Policy
The Village at Nags Head offers two sound side piers for the enjoyment of our owners. Both sound accesses have storage for kayaks and the south side pier has storage for day sailors as well. The following is the policy regarding boat storage and use of the south pier launch area:
No boat or trailer shall be stored at the South Sound Access unless the boat is able to be launched from the access. This site is suitable for day sailors, kayaks and canoes. The only trailers that are permitted at the access are those for boats being used at the access and shall be road worthy and properly registered by the State. No trailers are to be stored on their own at the access unless the boat is in use at or moored at the access. The Storage of trailers for boats larger than those that can be launched at the access is not permitted. North sound access storage is for kayaks and canoes only.
If you plan to leave your boat, trailer, canoe or kayak at the access at the either sound access for more than 30 days, you will need to register your boat and sign a waiver. Registration stickers can be obtained by contacting Caroline Decker at [email protected]. You may download the boat waiver here. Items that are left for longer than 30 days without registration will be towed.
There will be no overnight parking from midnight to 6:00 AM at any association beach or sound access.
